Whether it’s conducting corporate media trainings or mentoring young journalists and producers, Jason Dasey has shared his expertise and know-how. With more than two decades at the world’s top networks, including CNN, BBC and ESPN, he brings the highest professional standards – and provides useful, easy-to-remember tips.

When ESPN expanded its worldwide reach to parts of Asia and India, Jason served as a trainer in addition to his primary job of anchor and reporter after his arrival at the Singapore headquarters of ESPN/STAR Sports in 2001. He assisted junior producers and journalists with scripting, production and reporting. In 2004, Jason formalized his training by compiling a 20-page writing and style guide for ESPN/STAR Sports’ news department and conducting interactive group workshops.

On his frequent travels to India, Jason offered tips on interviewing and presentation to production staff members at ESPN’s Delhi office. In 2004 and 2005, he was a judge for ESPN’s Dream Job series, including the final. The TV talent contest helped choose an anchor/reporter for India from more than 40,000 applicants.

In late 2006, Jason worked on a contract basis as a trainer and producer for BBC World Service Trust’s Burmese service, based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. As he implemented a new discussion format for a twice-weekly health radio show, Jason assisted the program’s presenter in developing interviewing skills and technique.

And as a media-trainer, Jason has helped business leaders prepare for important interviews and public appearances. Having been on both sides of the camera and faced the questions of journalists in press conferences and one-on-one interviews, Jason offers guidance in key areas, including content, style and broadcasting etiquette to help give business leaders the best chance of getting their message across.
